About Us
Our Family has been searching for the perfect campground to call home for family vacations. So far we have come up empty. Since we have been to a couple parks we decided to make a blog to let other campers know how we rated the parks. Other campers blogs have been super helpful, not necessarily steering us in the right direction, but definitely saving us money on parks that we would not like.
We are tenters. We love sites that are private with large trees. I like the beach, my husband likes the pools. We love hiking trails and parks that offer something off the beaten path. If I pulled into a campground with manicured lawns, no trees, and perfectly trimmed hedges I would be in my own little hell. We live in Sarnia ON, an hour west of London ON. Our youngest child is 4 so we can't spend 8 hours driving in our car, or fifteen minutes walking just to get to a beach or pool. We normally book trips mid week to avoid the weekend crowd. There is nothing worse then trying to go to bed and being kept awake by screaming kids, loud drunken teenagers and flashlights pointing at your tent. We are also open to camping in Michigan, we just haven't seen many reviews on these parks.
The GRCA offers unparalleled camping experiences at eight conservation areas.
Campsites are available on a daily, monthly or seasonal basis. Reserving ahead is a good idea for holiday weekends or for your camping vacation. At some areas there are premiu m riverside campsites and radio-free campsites. Parks are open from about May 1 to Thanksgiving. Pools at Byng Island and Brant Park open in mid-June Reserve a campsite:

So please enjoy our reviews of the Grand River Conservation Area parks. CLICK ON THE LINKS AT THE TOP OF THIS PAGE FOR EACH CAMPGROUND. We have stuck with this line of parks because they offer 90% of what we are looking for....we just haven't found the perfect one. If you have a great campground in southern Ontario please feel free to let us know about it . Sign the guest book and let everyone share all our good tips!
Information provided is for education purposes only. Please use this information as a guideline only. Parks can not be perfect every day of the year - therefore your experience at each park may differ dramatically then our views on that particular visit. No copy right infringements intended.
